The Glens Falls City School District Backpack Program provides kid-friendly, easy-to-prepare food to bring home on the weekend. Some of the students in our district rely on the food provided at school as their main source of food.  Our mission is that no child faces a weekend without access to food.  We also provide larger bags of food during school breaks. The program is a collaboration between Kensington Road Elementary, Jackson Heights, Big Cross, GFMS, and their respective PTAs. The bags go home on Thursdays with students. We have weekly volunteers that help with the packing. The program is completely donation based. Both food donations as well as monetary donations are always welcome.
